Staying on Amalfi Coast allows tourists to make excursions in the most beautiful places of Campania, to visit naturalistic and archaeological treasures.
Pompei is one of the most fascinating, interesting and important archaeological sites of the world. Thanks to the eruption of Vesuvio in 79 b.C. the Roman town of Pompei was completely buried (together with Ercolano, Oplontis, and Stabiae). Today we can see the lifestyle of that age in details and imagine the life of a rich Roman town 2000 years ago. Visiting Pompei tourists can make a real journey in the past and this is an exciting and touching experience, very interesting from a cultural point of view.
Ercolano is very interesting, too. Together with Pompei, it gives a complete image of Roman world 2000 years ago.

Paestum was one of the most important towns of Magna Graecia. It became famous thanks to three magnificent temples built by Greek colonisers.
The temple dedicated to Poseidon is considered the best example of Doric architecture with its wonderful triangular pediments and the remains of two altars.
The temple called “Basilica” is considered the most ancient. It was probably dedicated to Hera and contains 50 entire Doric original columns, the sacred pit and the altar used for sacrifices.
The temple dedicated to Cerere, with 24 grooved columns.
The Archaeological Museum, not far from the excavations of the ancient town, contains findings from VII century b.C. to VII century a.C. Sculptures, tools, and statues found in the excavations are collected in this museum. The most famous finding is the Tomb of the Diver.
Not far from the excavations, near the town, at the mouth of Sele River, there are the remains of the sanctuary dedicated to Era (Heraion), one of the most important Greek sanctuaries in Italy. The sacred area contained also other buildings, a temple and a smaller building called “Tesoro”. More info on www.pestum.it
After the visit to the excavations, the best thing to do is a swim in the crystalline waters of Trentova bay and a visit to the picturesque ancient alleys of Agropoli. More info on http://agropoli.starnetwork.it

The ancient part of Agropoli is picturesque; it can be reached through nice staircases and from the upper part visitors can see the surrounding landscape and the port, that is a wonderful panorama. Trentova bay is very interesting for its crystalline waters.
Capri
Emperor Tiberius loved this wonderful isle very much: it is one of the most famous places of Campania. Capri is beautiful thanks to its rocks, the typical small beaches, the caves (for example the so-called Grotta Azzurra, that is Blue Grotto) and the magnificent stacks (rocks emerging from the water). Nature is very interesting, too, even if it is less celebrated. Going through the narrow inner paths is a fascinating experience.

Sorrento and the Sorrentine Peninsula
Sorrento offers to its visitors a wonderful view over the gulf of Naples and the isles of Capri, Ischia, and Procida. The coasts are very irregular, with small hidden creeks and beaches created because of the erosion by the sea.
